Hoodies, sunglasses, and baseball caps had become their armor against the spotlight. “Did anyone see you?” She whispered as Zach slid into the backseat of her car, tugging his hood lower. He grinned, dimples flashing even in the dark. “Nope. Took the long way just to be safe.” She exhaled, tension easing in her chest. But the fear of being exposed was always there—one slip-up, and everything could unravel. “Sometimes I wish we didn’t have to hide, baby.” Zach admitted, his hand finding hers. But for now, this is how it has to be.” His phone buzzed—a reminder from one of his bandmates about an early interview. He sighed, leaning in to press a soft kiss to her lips. “I’ll text you when I can. I love you, baby.” She smiled, warmth blooming in her chest. “I love you too. Be careful, okay?” With one last look, he slipped out of the car and into the night. She sat there for a moment, the bittersweet feeling of loving someone she couldn’t fully have hanging in the air. But for now, their secret was safe. And that was enough.
