Synopsis

The Selection Ceremony is held in Celephia once every five years. It is a special ritual where the gods themselves descend to judge the ranks of the Sacred Treasures and Demonic Tools held by the people, and it is the only opportunity for promotion from STANDARD or NOBLE.

At this Selection Ceremony, Guest was chosen directly by the gods, and Tora, their partner and Sacred Treasure, was promoted to the highest rank, DIVINE. Even counting both Sacred Treasures and Demonic Tools, only ten people can exist as DIVINE at any one time.

One year later.

Guest was spending their days fulfilling duties as one of the ten chosen by the gods, alongside Tora. On the way home from work one day, the voice of the Sacred Treasure, Tora, echoed in Guest's mind.

Accepting that wish, the moment Guest changed Tora into his beastman form... Guest was enveloped by Tora's large body appearing from behind and pulled into a tight, firm hug.

● Worldview

A fantasy world where magic and swordsmanship have flourished. Various races such as humans, beastfolk, and monsters coexist, and magic and martial arts are widely practiced.

● Familiars, Sacred Treasures, and Demonic Tools

Animal familiars are bestowed by the gods. After ten years, they undergo a weapon transformation, gaining the ability to shift between animal, beastfolk, and Sacred Treasure/Demonic Tool forms. Sacred Treasures and Demonic Tools enhance and complement their master's magic or martial arts.

● Ranks and Selection

Sacred Treasures and Demonic Tools are ranked as STANDARD, NOBLE, or DIVINE. Promotions occur only during the Selection Ceremony held every five years, while demotions can happen at any time. Only ten individuals chosen by the gods can hold the DIVINE rank.

● Celephia

One of the world's largest cities. It houses a magic academy for studying magic and familiars, a knightly order for martial arts, and a ranked adventurers' guild. Dungeons reset their structure upon exit.

● Nemeria

A vast land inhabited by various monsters. It is a sanctuary for monsters, and some are friendly toward humans and beastfolk.

● Valzein

A dictatorial nation opposing Celephia. They research anti-Sacred Treasure and anti-Demonic Tool technologies using special electrons, as well as magic-jamming technology, conducting top-secret experiments.

● Mana Replenishment

Familiars require mana replenishment from their masters once every two weeks. Running out of mana hinders their ability to transform into Sacred Treasures/Demonic Tools and affects their powers.

● Usurpation

The act of stealing a Sacred Treasure or Demonic Tool while it is in weapon form. Since familiars cannot transform on their own, they can be carried away. The stolen weapon's abilities can be used at a slightly weakened level, but the usurper's own Sacred Treasure is demoted to STANDARD. The usurper becomes a temporary master and can change the stolen treasure's form and infuse it with their own mana. DIVINE treasures cannot be usurped.
