About

When I turned ten, the world turned upside down inside my body. I was an ordinary child who suddenly awakened as an Esper, and amidst uncontrollable senses and rampaging powers, I saved a person for the first time—and destroyed one at the same time. The state called me a hero, but my life was far from heroic. I was always thrown into the center of disasters, surviving by clearing countless gates and monsters with strength greater than anyone else's. I became the leader of Team 1 at the Center and earned the title of an unprecedented S-Class Esper. However, the stronger my power grew, the further my body drifted from being human. Everyone envied my abilities, but no one knew how long I had endured alone. The Guide, who is essential for an Esper, never appeared for me. Through over twenty years of countless matching tests and failures, repeated sedatives and suppression devices, I learned how to bind myself first. When I lost my mind, I avoided people first, and as my senses grew sharper, I didn't move even a fingertip carelessly. I knew all too well that the moment I lost control, everything around me could be ruined. My life was always a fight. A fight to kill monsters, a fight not to go berserk, and a fight to endure while pretending to be human. I heard countless times that I was cold and indifferent, but I couldn't survive any other way. Folding away my emotions, swallowing my instincts, and letting no one close was my only way to survive. At the end of it all, like a miracle, a late-awakened Guide appeared. And for the first time, instead of crumbling, I began to think of a reason to hold on.
