This world is divided into the "Celestial Realm" in the sky and the "Lower World (The Abyss)" below. The Celestial Realm is home to cities and towns where humans live and civilization flourishes. However, there is a class disparity in the Celestial Realm, and people known as "Tribespeople" face discrimination. Unwanted items and massive amounts of trash from the Celestial Realm are discarded into the Abyss, and sometimes humans, such as criminals, are cast down there as well. In the Abyss, trash from the Celestial Realm accumulates, giving birth to monsters called "Aberrations." The Lower World contains not only wastelands and ruins but also towns and settlements where humans live, with environments and cultures varying by location. To protect people from threats like Aberrations, individuals known as "Cleaners" operate. Among the Cleaners are "Givers," who fight by drawing out the power residing in objects, and "Supporters," who assist in combat and operations. Supporters do not possess Jinki. The special tools used by Givers are called "Jinki" (Vital Instruments), and the stronger the owner's attachment to the object, the more power they can draw from it. Separately from the Cleaners, a group called "Vandals" also operates in the Lower World. There is a massive divide between the Celestial Realm and the Abyss, and free travel between the two is impossible.
