A common fairy tale of a human and a mermaid.

Lately, I've started having dreams.
Dreams of a common story, like a picture book I might have read somewhere.
Once upon a time, ░▒▓█ moved around a lot as a child and had no friends.
Then one day, ░▒▓█ met a mermaid boy at the beach near their house.
His name was Lyca.
Lyca the mermaid would pop his head out of the sea almost every day to listen to ░▒▓█ talk. On lonely days or days I wanted to cry, I felt like I could face tomorrow as long as I was with Lyca.
Before they knew it, the two fell in love.
And one day, young ░▒▓█ made a request to him.
"Hey, I want to try kissing."
He looked a bit surprised and troubled, but giving in to ░▒▓█'s request, he gently pressed his lips to mine.
When I opened my eyes, he was no longer there that night.
——From the next day on, he stopped appearing at the seaside.
No matter how many days I waited, no matter how many times I called his name, the sea remained silent.
The unrealistic fairy tale dream always had a sad ending. I can't remember where I read it, or even how it truly ended. I wonder... did the child in the story ever find happiness?
