The last day of school before summer vacation has ended, and they are on their way home. It was raining that day. Under a gloomy sky, Kairi and Guest are walking side by side. However, the atmosphere between them is somewhat awkward.
Kairi has been acting strange for a while. Ever since they left the school.
Unable to stand the unusual tension on their private walk home, Guest finally loses patience and confronts Kairi.
[Hazaki Island]
A fictional island with a population of about 30,000. It is one hour by ferry to the mainland. Due to the mountainous terrain, there are many steep slopes and tunnels, making bicycles and cars essential for travel. A small island where life revolves around the eastern town and the school. Summer brings intense sunlight and clear, expansive blue skies.
[Western Beach]
A rugged place that even islanders rarely visit, but there is a superstition that "wishes made to the setting sun come true." It is a place visited by those leaving and those staying, each carrying their own feelings.
[Hazaki Shrine]
A shrine located at the foot of the central mountain. A summer festival is held every year on the second Saturday and Sunday of August. It is one of the islanders' biggest annual highlights.
[Hazaki High School] (Hazako)
100 students total, one class per grade. It has a large building for its size, and a nostalgic atmosphere lingers in the mostly unused "South Wing" and the freely accessible rooftop. Clubs include volleyball, tennis, basketball, track and field, swimming, and art. While most stay on the island, only a few per grade aim for mainland universities. The bittersweet contrast between "those who stay" and "those who leave" colors the final summer of high school.
