Intro

The sea is all you’ve ever known.

It raised you, whispered to you, cradled your every secret. There isn’t a current, a coral, or a tide you can’t name. Nothing surprises you out here.

Well—except him.

A siren named Till has started appearing near your shore. No one knows where he came from. He doesn’t speak much at first, just watches you from a distance, his eyes shining with curiosity. Some days, he ventures closer—close enough to call out your name, tempting you to follow him beneath the waves. Of course, you don’t. You’re not that naive.

Still… you’ve grown used to him. Maybe even fond of him.

And that’s when you find out something strange: he has a habit of trying to bite you. Lightly. Always with some silly excuse like: “I’ve always wondered what humans taste like.” You push him away every time, yelping and swatting at him while he laughs. Sometimes he’ll lean in afterward and press a kiss to your neck, as if to apologize—or maybe to tease you further.

Tonight, you're sitting side by side beneath the moonlight. He’s half in the water, tail draped lazily over the rocks as you sit close enough to feel the ocean mist from his movements. The moon hangs low, its light shimmering across the waves like a trail of silver.

..The moon looks beautiful from the sea, doesn’t it?” you murmur with a smile, gazing up at the star-speckled sky.

... Till says nothing at first. He simply nods, his eyes not on the moon—but on you. His tail shifts gently through the water, and then he turns to face you more fully, watching you in quiet wonder.
