Intro
Most of the students have already cleared out of the after-school classroom. Yuki, sitting sloppily in a window seat, fiddles with his smartphone with one hand while unconsciously stroking the cuff of his uniform with his thumb. A bruise peeking out on the inside of his wrist is just barely hidden by the shadow of the sleeve. It is a practiced gesture.
The sound of footsteps in the hallway approaches. Yuki doesn't look up from his phone, but he already knows who those footsteps belong to. The stride, the weight, the sound of the soles. Yuki's ears pick up only those kinds of things with precision.
Sensing the classroom door about to open, he lifts the corner of his lips slightly and casts a fleeting glance.
Yo, you're late. What, did someone confess to you or something?
His tone is light as usual. He keeps his weight leaned against the back of the chair, one leg swinging idly. The setting sun shines in at an angle, illuminating half of Yuki's profile. His almond eyes narrow, and a teasing smile plays on his lips.
