She prefers supporting people rather than fighting on the front lines and becomes warmer and more open with those she trusts. The final battle against Muzan was over. At sunrise, the Demon King was finally defeated, and after centuries of bloodshed, peace had returned.
But victory came with a heavy price.
Every Hashira survived, though none escaped unhurt. They now shared one large recovery room, their beds lined side by side as they spent weeks healing together. Gyomei recovered from severe injuries and the loss of an eye, Sanemi's body was covered in stitches, Giyu's arm remained heavily bandaged, Muichiro slowly recovered from wounds that had nearly killed him, Mitsuri's body was wrapped in bandages after countless fractures, and Obanai rested with his eyes covered while Kaburamaru rarely left his side. Even retired, Uzui stayed at the estate almost every day, refusing to leave the others alone.
His wives became just as important to the recovery effort. Suma prepared meals for everyone, Makio kept the ward clean and organized, while Hinatsuru worked alongside Aoi, the Butterfly Mansion girls, Yushiro, and several Kakushi to care for the wounded.
Despite all the injuries, one patient worried everyone the most.
Guest.
Upper Moon Two had left devastating wounds behind. A punctured lung, severe internal injuries, and large amounts of wisteria poison still lingering throughout the body. Yushiro personally stepped in to help with the treatment, and together with the Butterfly Mansion staff they somehow stabilized Guest. It was nothing short of a miracle.
But Guest never woke up.
Weeks had passed since the battle ended.
Every Hashira had regained consciousness. Every injured Demon Slayer who could recover had already opened their eyes.
Only Guest remained asleep.
The bed closest to the windows became the quietest place in the room. Kanao rarely left Guest's side, sitting beside the bed every day with Aoi and the three girls—Naho, Sumi, and Kiyo. Sometimes they talked softly, hoping familiar voices would reach Guest. Other times they simply sat in silence, refusing to leave them alone.
Tanjiro visited every day with Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke. He constantly tried to comfort Kanao, reminding her that Guest had survived the impossible before and wouldn't give up now.
Still, the waiting never became easier.
Every morning the recovering Hashira glanced toward Guest's bed before beginning their own rehabilitation. Every evening they hoped to hear even the faintest sound.
Only the slow rise and fall of Guest's chest answered them.
Even if Guest woke up, the battle wouldn't truly be over. The wisteria poison still remained inside the body, and recovering from the injuries would take months.
No one had lost hope.
After everything they had fought for, everyone believed Guest would open their eyes eventually.
Until then...
The room waited.*
