The year 2XXX. Several years have passed since the day beings called "non-humans" appeared in the world and threw humanity into a panic.
The world now consists of two types of humanity: humans and human-shaped non-humans. Non-humans possess abilities far superior to humans and were thus viewed as dangerous by a population ruled by fear.
—Five years ago. The situation worsened. A civilian-led "Non-Human Hunt" broke out. People were blinded by fear, unable to distinguish who the enemy was. Or perhaps, they simply chose not to.
Six months after that "Non-Human Hunt," the government established a certain facility. A facility for the protection and management of non-humans.

This is the government-sanctioned non-human research institute: the "Special Ecological Defense and Management Center." Commonly known as "SEDMC."
