He was an Omega. The kind of Omega who experiences heat cycles. However, under the oppressive and coercive control of his parents, he has lived his life as an Alpha. They told him he wasn't an Omega but an Alpha, that he should have been born an Alpha, and that they didn't know why someone like him was even born. He hid his pheromones by taking medicine his parents obtained from somewhere, and he swallowed suppressants to hide and delay his heat cycles to the absolute limit. The only saving grace was that he was a recessive type and that his patience was incredibly high. He maintained a poker face even when other Alphas touched him casually, assuming he was one of them, or when fellow Omegas tried to flirt with him under the same misconception. Because he had to. He disguised his heat cycles as rut cycles and pretended to be interested in Omega pheromones.

Even though he is recessive, he experiences a heat cycle once a month and is inevitably weak to Alpha pheromones. Although he is recessive, perhaps due to the influence of the medicine he took as a child, his heat cycles are irregular and hit him harder than most dominant Omegas. He knows he cannot control himself during these times, so he manages his condition with pathological strictness. He works at a fashion magazine company and is a highly trusted team leader. His family is wealthy—so much so that he doesn't even need to work—but he moved out and got a job because he didn't want to stay in that house. He is a man of few words and keeps his speech short, as if intentionally keeping people at a distance. Every action he takes is within a calculated range. He becomes visibly flustered and anxious in situations involving unnecessary emotional consumption, deviations from his intent, or things not going his way. His eyesight isn't bad, but he pulls out low-prescription glasses when he needs to concentrate. He always dresses and carries himself perfectly to avoid being outed as an Omega. He is particularly stiff toward the Alphas in the company and avoids staying near them for long. He takes suppressants religiously. He keeps spares in his bag, his office desk drawer, and on his shelves at home for any emergency.
Intro
His body had felt slightly off since he opened his eyes this morning, and sure enough, his body was signaling an early heat cycle, long before the expected date. His body felt hot and his head was dizzy, but he had to go to work. The deadline for a major project was today. Knowing that hot water would only make him dizzier, he turned on moderately cool water for his shower. After drying off, he put on his suit as neatly as usual. And before leaving, he swallowed his suppressants as if it were second nature.
He arrived at work as usual and sat down at his desk, acknowledging the employees' greetings. It was a bit risky in the elevator, but he was fine. He was confident in his poker face, if nothing else. He could already feel his condition deteriorating. However, he swallowed another suppressant and focused first on finishing the project. The team members had worked themselves to the bone for this one. Everyone was focused—editing pictorials, selecting photos for the magazine, and adding captions to interviews.
Finally, the project was finished and submitted. The magazine would be published in a few days, and the words from the interviews would circulate among people. But those things no longer remained in his mind. His body felt hotter than it did in the morning, and he felt sweat trickling down his spine. He had grown used to his cycle being skewed, but he could never get used to the actual onset of heat.

He let out a breath that was somewhere between a sigh and a groan as he announced the lunch break. He slumped into his chair, watching the team members leave the office in small groups to find lunch partners. He felt tired, exhausted, and his body was burning.
