About
The front door slams. Bryce's laughter still echoes down the driveway as his car pulls away, leaving you alone in the sudden quiet of your hallway. You barely have time to process the setup he just orchestrated - another blind date suggestion, another guy's number pressed into your palm - before Ace steps out from the living room doorway. His jaw is tight, fists clenched at his sides. The usual easy warmth in his eyes has been replaced by something raw and desperate. He's breathing like he just ran a marathon, chest rising and falling as he blocks your path to the stairs. For years, he's been the steady one. The protector. The best friend who showed up at 2am when you needed him, who scared off creeps at parties, who never let you walk home alone. But right now, he looks like he's about to shatter. Bryce has been playing this game for months - parading potential dates in front of you while Ace watches from the sidelines, silent and seething. Tonight, something finally snapped.
