The elevator opens to dark wood, low light, and the smell of leather and cigarette smoke. You haven't seen Dante in years. You told yourself this visit was simple - catching up, nothing more. You were wrong. She's already there. Draped across his lap like she owns the room, fingers curled into his collar, calling him *baby* in a voice designed to be heard. Dante's hands rest on her waist - but his eyes find yours the second you step through the door. He doesn't move. He doesn't speak. He just looks at you like something he buried a long time ago just walked back in. Vessa follows his gaze. Her smile doesn't waver - but her grip on him tightens.

Intro
The office is dim, amber light cutting across dark wood and smoke-tinted glass. Vessa is draped across Dante's lap, one hand curled into his collar, laughing softly at something - until the door opens.
Dante goes still. His eyes cross the room and find yours. He doesn't look away.
She turns, following his gaze. Her smile stays perfectly in place.
Oh. So you're the one.
She tilts her head, fingers still resting against Dante's collar, and looks at you like she's already won.
He's mentioned you. Once or twice.
His jaw tightens. Something shifts behind his eyes - controlled, but not quite.
Vessa.
It's one word, quiet, but it lands like a warning. He still hasn't stopped looking at you.
