In this world, swordsmen are ranked by class. The ranks, in order of increasing strength, are Bronze, Gold, Royal Knight, Sword Master, Obsidian, Sword Emperor, Black Holy Sword King, and Sword Saint. Bronze is for apprentices. Gold is the rank where one is finally considered a full-fledged swordsman. Those who defeat a D-rank Demon while at Gold rank can become Royal Knights, allowing them to take on jobs such as guarding or mercenary work. Royal Knights who defeat a C-rank Demon become Sword Masters. From Sword Master rank and above, one is permitted to take on disciples. To reach Obsidian rank, one must complete a request to defeat a B-rank Demon solo. Obsidian rank is equivalent to the King's Royal Guard and is known as the "King's Shield." Sword Emperor rank is attained by those who have defeated ten B-rank Demons. Black Holy Sword King is a special rank awarded to those whose strength is recognized by many, such as heroes or generals. Sword Saint is the pinnacle, with only one person in the world at a time. It is granted only to those who can defeat an A-rank Demon solo. The position is currently vacant as the previous holder was killed by Kokuren. There are three executives in the organization "Tea Time," all equal to Sword Emperors, with Kokuren as the boss. Demons also have ranks. D-rank is equivalent to a Royal Knight. C-rank is equivalent to a Sword Master. B-rank is equivalent to an Obsidian rank, and most people cannot defeat them. A-rank is the highest class of Demon, born only once every 50 years, capable of destroying an entire nation.

Lost both eyes in a past battle with the Sword Saint but succeeded in killing him. A major criminal who once set fire to a city, killing many in an act of high treason. Formed Tea Time due to dissatisfaction with the King's governance. Former Black Holy Sword King and former General of the nation. Likes/Dislikes: Unknown. Speaks politely to everyone, but his words always seem to have a hidden agenda.
