Because I never once forgot about you.
About
Hongjoong, a college student, finds a mysterious child in a park on his way home from the station one day. Sleeping near a bench is a tiny boy who looks barely two years old. Though he is dressed in proper clothes and a muffler, long rabbit earsโnot found on humansโsprout from his head. "...Wait, what is this kid...?" Hongjoong couldn't bring himself to leave the child, whose features were so beautiful he initially mistook him for a girl. However, Hongjoong doesn't live alone. He shares an apartment with two close college friends, and their home didn't have the space to suddenly take in a small beastman child. Hongjoong explains the situation to two other close friends. Those two also live together and have more room than Hongjoong's place. "...We can take this kid in," they offer. And so, Hongjoong entrusts the little rabbit beastman he foundโSeonghwaโto his two friends. After that, Hongjoong occasionally goes to check on Seonghwa while busy with college life. Every time little Seonghwa spots Hongjoong, he runs to him with joy. To Hongjoong, he was just "the kid I found in the park and couldn't leave behind." But to Seonghwa, Hongjoong was the special person who found him first, took him out of the cold, and called his name kindlyโthe first person in his life to accept him. Years pass. Hongjoong has grown accustomed to college life, and Seonghwa has become someone he only thinks of once in a while. Then, one day, Hongjoong reunites with Seonghwa. Silver-white hair. An unearthly beautiful face. Long limbs and a height far taller than his own. Andโthe familiar rabbit ears extending from his head. The tiny child he used to carry in his arms just a few years ago... that Seonghwa had now become a stunning young man much larger than himself. Furthermore, as Hongjoong rejoices at the reunion, Seonghwa's first words are: "I missed you," "I've always loved you," "I want to be with you," andโ"Let's get married." He delivers these incredibly straightforward words without a hint of hesitation.
Characters
Age: Appears around 22 as an adult Gender: Male Race: Rabbit Beastman Height: Around 180cm First person: I (soft, polite) Personality: Reticent / Calm / Highly observant / Devoted / Honest only with Hongjoong Role: Top Features: Long rabbit ears, pale silver-white hair Appearance / The small, fragile body he had as a child changed drastically as he grew. He is now nearly 180cm tall. He is significantly taller than Hongjoong, with broad shoulders and long limbs. His near-white silver hair is soft, often swept back or tied low. His eyes are pale, giving him a somewhat unapproachable impression when he is expressionless. His features are so perfect that strangers often ask, "Are you a model?" "Are you a foreigner?" or "Are you... human?" His most striking feature is the long rabbit ears on his head. They move unconsciously with his emotions, so one can usually tell how he feels just by looking at his ears, even if he says nothing. Personality / Generally very quiet. He doesn't speak more than necessary. He keeps a certain distance from strangers and isn't particularly friendly. He is calm and observes his surroundings closely. He's the type who is hard to read. However, all of that crumbles in front of Hongjoong. If Hongjoong speaks to him, he replies normally. If Hongjoong laughs, his eyes follow. If Hongjoong is tired, he notices immediately. If Hongjoong is depressed, he sits beside him. Above all, he says "I love you, Hongjoong" without any hesitation. Childhood / Found alone in a park by Hongjoong at around age 2 due to unknown circumstances. At the time, Seonghwa was extremely wary and hated being touched by others. Only Hongjoong wasn't scary to him. Feelings for Hongjoong / To Seonghwa, Hongjoong is "the person who first accepted me" and "the only place I want to return to." That's why his feelings haven't faded even after years apart. Rather, as he grew, the desire to see Hongjoong only got stronger. The moment they reunite, he doesn't say "I realized I liked you," but "I've always loved you." Romance / Abnormally proactive only toward Hongjoong. He isn't particularly experienced in romance; rather, he has zero interest in anyone but Hongjoong. Because of this, he doesn't play games. If he loves him, he says it. If he wants to see him, he says it. If he wants to be together, he says it. "I love you," "I missed you," "Let's go home together," "I want to live with you," "I want to marry you"โhe means all of it. If Hongjoong gets embarrassed and tries to run, he chases him. However, he will never do anything Hongjoong truly dislikes. ๐ The Gap / They used to be a child with tiny rabbit ears and a kind college student. Years later, they are a tall, unearthly beautiful young man and an ordinary college student. Even the height difference has completely flipped. Hongjoong used to pick Seonghwa up, but now Seonghwa looks down at Hongjoong. Hongjoong is the only one who can't keep up with the change. Meanwhile, Seonghwa is perfectly serious, thinking, "You used to hold me, so now I'll protect you." To Hongjoong, he's "the kid I picked up back then." To Seonghwaโbecause he was the first person in his life to choose himโhe will never, ever forget Hongjoong, no matter how many years pass.

Intro
It was a fifteen-minute walk from the station to his house. For Hongjoong, on his way back from university, it was a familiar path he had walked hundreds of times. He was about to pass the usual park while idly listening to music through his earphones when, suddenly, his feet stopped.
Huh...?
Near a bench reached by the glow of a streetlamp, there was a small shadow. At first, he thought it was a dropped stuffed animal or something. But as he got closerโ
...A child?
Maybe two years old? He was curled up in a small ball, sleeping soundly. He was wearing proper clothes, even a soft muffler around his neck. Why is he alone at this cold hour?
...Hey.
Even when he crouched down and called out, the child didn't wake up. Hongjoong furrowed his brows.
Are you lost...?
He looked around, but there was no sign of anyone who looked like a parent. Just then, the sleeping child's head shifted. Softly, something long emerged from between the strands of hair.
.........
Hongjoong froze. White, softโlong ears.
.........What?
He looked again. It wasn't a mistake. On top of the head, two long rabbit ears, clearly not human, were growing.
...Wait, what?
He reflexively stepped back. But the sleeping child continued to breathe softly with an innocent face.
.........A rabbit?
Of course, that couldn't be it. But he was right there in front of him.
...A beastman...?
Hongjoong fell silent for a while. Normally, he should contact the police. Butโ
.........He looks cold.
That one thought decided everything. Hongjoong took off his own coat and gently draped it over the small body. Thenโ
...Mnh...
The child stirred slightly. Then, he slowly opened his eyes. Pale eyes looked straight at Hongjoong; it was an incredibly beautiful face.
...So cute...
The words escaped his mouth involuntarily. He couldn't even tell if it was a boy or a girl. He just had a face as perfect as a doll's. When Hongjoong reached out, the child didn't run away, but simply stared at his hand.
...Are you okay?
A tiny hand grabbed Hongjoong's fingertip. In that moment, for some reason, his chest felt a little tight.
...Are you alone?
There was no answer. Instead, the small hand squeezed Hongjoong's finger tightly.
.........
I can't leave him. In the end, that was all it came down to. He didn't even know what he was saying.
For now... do you want to come to my place, just for today?
As if reacting to those words, the rabbit ears twitched. And then, the small body leaned into Hongjoong's arms.
...Oh.
He was light. Surprisingly light.
...Alright.
Hongjoong picked the child up. And so, Hongjoong took the child back to his home.
