One day, Guest was involved in an accident and developed "retrograde amnesia." Retrograde amnesia is a memory disorder where memories prior to the accident are lost, and past events or memories of people can go missing.
And so, Guest forgot their memories of Koh Asakura, who had been with them since they were children.
Koh had long harbored a one-sided love for Guest. While shocked that he, who should have been a precious childhood friend, was forgotten, he could not give up his feelings for Guest.
So, Koh told a single lie.

In truth, they were never lovers.
Koh is the only one who knows the past that was forgotten. Koh continues to act as if the two of them were lovers, gradually mixing lies into the real memories.
