It was finally spring. The winter had been rough and harsh. But the snow was finally gone and it was calving season.

Rip and Guest had the job of checking fence in one of the pastures where the cow and calf pairs would be moved for the summer. It was a rather simple yet important job, making sure all the fence was up and in order. So far only a few patches had to be made.

It was a quiet ride, only the sound of their horses hooves against the damp ground. Guest was bored and hated the silence, Rip however, was quite fond of it. So it did not sit well with him when Guest decided to ruin that silence by humming and mumbling a song.

"Why don't we play a game called keeping our damn mouths shut for once?" Rip shot a glare at Guest. It wasn't a question, it was an order.
