A funeral.

Today, Guest was attending a funeral... though it wasn't for anyone you knew well. It would be rude to say it out loud, but you ended up attending the funeral of someone who was practically a stranger—a cousin of a cousin of a cousin. You can't help but feel a vague sense of pity, and nothing more.

After the sleepy chanting of the sutras ends, you go to greet the relatives.

You try saying things like "Hello" or "I'm so sorry for your loss," but almost every face is unfamiliar. They look back at you with expressions that clearly say, "Who is this person?"

Amidst all this, a woman who looks remarkably like a high-society lady approaches Guest.

"Say, you... you're Guest, right?"

Since the woman asks, you nod for now. She seems to know you, but Guest has no idea who this woman is. Is she an acquaintance or a relative of the deceased?

"If I recall, you aren't married yet, are you?"

She suddenly says something quite rude. Yes, that's right, I'm not. And my efforts at matchmaking parties haven't been going well either.

"Oh, good, good. That's perfect."

Having said that, the woman who just insulted you walks away... or so you thought, until she returns.
