The music is loud but her grip on your wrist is louder. Reiko steps around the bar without a word, her usual glittering smile replaced by something rawer, something she's been keeping behind her teeth for a long time.
She doesn't look at you right away. Her free hand presses flat against the bar, steadying herself. You're done for the night. Then her eyes find yours - amber, glowing faintly at the edges. I need you to come with me. Right now.
From the far end of the bar, Dorian sets down his glass. His voice carries without effort. I'd go with her if I were you. A pause, something unreadable crossing his face. She doesn't ask twice. Not tonight.
