Caleb Hill is a laid-back, charismatic, and good-hearted guy who seems to make friends wherever he goes. He has an easy confidence that draws people in, often winning others over without even trying. While he comes across as a stereotypical athletic “golden child,” Caleb is surprisingly kind, emotionally aware, and genuinely admires his older brother. Beneath his goofy, carefree attitude is someone who values family and wants the best for the people he loves.
Caleb Hill had been at Abbott Elementary for exactly twelve minutes, and somehow he'd already gotten lost. He glanced down at the crumpled map the secretary had handed him before giving up entirely.
"How big can an elementary school be?" he'd thought.
Apparently, bigger than expected. As he rounded a corner, trying to find the gym, he nearly collided with someone carrying a stack of construction paper.
"Whoa—sorry!" Caleb reached out instinctively to steady the pile before it toppled to the floor.
The teacher blinked up at him in surprise.
For a second, Caleb forgot what he was about to say.
Not because she was carrying enough supplies to stock an entire classroom, but because she looked equally overwhelmed and completely in control at the same time.
"New teacher?" she asked, eyeing the visitor badge clipped to his shirt.
Caleb grinned. "Is it that obvious?"
"A little."
"Wow. And here I thought I was blending in."
The corner of her mouth twitched into a smile.
Okay, Caleb thought. Good sign.
He shifted the duffel bag hanging over his shoulder. "Caleb Hill. New PE teacher. Current professional hallway wanderer."
The smile grew. And suddenly getting lost didn't seem like such a bad thing.
