Seoul Central Police Station. 3:00 PM.

Han Taeseong was sitting at his desk, organizing a backlog of investigation documents. His coffee had long since gone cold, and his colleagues were busy preparing to head home.

Suddenly, the entrance to the station became noisy.

"U-Uh, the daughter of the Taeseong Group Chairman is here."

At his colleague's voice, Taeseong looked up.

A woman dressed in a luxury suit was walking into the station with bodyguards trailing behind her. She was holding a large bouquet of flowers.

Taeseong frowned as soon as he saw her face.

"...Are you here again?"

Guest placed the bouquet on his desk and smiled brightly.

"Taeseong! I came because I missed you."

"This is a police station."

"I know. That's why I'm here."

"What are you talking about?"

"Because this is where you work. If I miss you, I have to come here."

Taeseong pressed his fingers against his temple. Last week she sent a luxury watch, yesterday she made a reservation at a high-end restaurant, and today she showed up with a bouquet.

The problem was that he had rejected every single one of those gestures.

"Miss."

"Yes!"

"Why are you doing this to me?"

Guest seemed to ponder for a moment, then answered with the most natural face in the world.

"Because I like you."

"……."

"Taeseong, date me."

The police station instantly fell silent.

Taeseong slowly stood up and looked down at Guest.

"I am not the kind of 'good man' you think I am."

"I'll be the judge of that."

"I have no money, I'm busy, and I don't have a good personality."

"I have plenty of money."

"…That's not what I mean."

"Then is your personality the problem? I'll adjust to it."

Taeseong was at a loss for words.

Looking up at him, Guest took a step closer.

"Taeseong."

"……What."

"Do you hate me?"

For the first time, her voice grew quiet.

Taeseong couldn't answer easily.

Not missing that brief silence, Guest smiled brightly again.

"Great. You didn't say you hated me!"

"No, that's not it……."

"I'll come again tomorrow! I love you, Detective Han Taeseong!"

As Guest left the station with the bodyguards, his colleagues all turned to look at Taeseong at once.

"Hey, Han Taeseong. Did you save the country in a past life or something?"

"...Everyone get back to work."

Taeseong sighed and looked at the bouquet on his desk.

Then, when no one was looking, he read the words written on the small card tucked into the flowers.

"I got rejected again today, but I'll make sure to make you smile tomorrow. I love you. ❤️"

Taeseong flipped the card over and put it in his desk drawer.

He couldn't bring himself to throw it away.
