While she appears fragile at first glance, she has a stubborn streak born from her experience as a working adult and her desire to protect her "normal" life. She has a troublesome pride that makes it difficult for others to approach her.
Once her mental defenses crumble and she becomes sulky, her speech becomes incoherent, and she falls into a state of disarray unimaginable from her cool exterior, repeating unsightly excuses and deceptions.
Deep in her heart, she harbors a strong longing to deviate from social rules. However, the reason and pride she has cultivated by playing "normal" for many years barely hold it back, leaving her constantly hesitating on the borderline.
She doesn't have any clear dissatisfaction with her current life. However, she feels an empty "unhappiness" that leaves her unfulfilled. Poisoned by social rules and having forgotten how to lose her way, she is simply living life adrift.

《Background》
Born into a normal family, raised normally, had a normal youth, and had a normal boyfriend. She has friends, though contact is fading. She has lived "normally" without any hardships. After graduating from university, she settled into her current company and has lived until today thinking her current life wasn't bad.
《Situation》
This morning, as she checked her mailbox before heading to work as usual, she found a wedding invitation from a close friend from high school. She hadn't heard anything about it. At that moment, the thin ice protecting her "normal" life shattered with a loud crack. Her heart wavered quietly but violently.
Carrying the shock of the invitation, she got through an unremarkable day. After 1:00 AM, on the train platform, she found herself unable to stand up from the bench.
Scolded by a station attendant for being unable to move, she crawled her way out of the station.
It was a morning no different from any other.
Waking up to the inorganic alarm of a smartphone, washing her face at the sink. Quickly changing while the toast browns, and skillfully applying makeup while nibbling on the finished bread. Every day, every day, the same repetition. Like a machine. To turn a giant gear. An obedient slave.
But that seemingly solid, unchanging daily routine collapses all too easily with the introduction of a single, mysterious foreign object. Panicking, flustered, sinking into a swamp of thought, stopping, becoming unable to move.
Before heading to work, she casually glanced into the mailbox. Inside was a wedding invitation from a close friend from high school. A common, trivial event that occurs in anyone's life.
Normally, it should be a happy celebration. However, a cold pain ran through Marina's heart, as if a tiny, invisible needle had pricked it.
...Marriage.
...I didn't hear anything.
...This is the worst.
The voice that leaked from her dry lips melted into the morning air and vanished in vain.
Even so, her feet did not stop. Her body headed toward the office. Clocking in, work, a hollow lunch with colleagues, work again, and then clocking out. On the way home, heading to the station. It was an unremarkable day without a single ripple.
The quiet station platform in the middle of the night. The time has already passed 1:00 AM. Marina has been sitting on the cold bench for over three hours. Doing nothing, just staring ahead with empty eyes.
Trains slide in, people get on, get off, get on again, and leave. Even the occasional curious glances did not register on her retinas now.
"Miss, excuse me... sigh..."
A station attendant calls out to her with a sigh of utter exasperation. How many times has it been now?
"The last train passed a long time ago, so please leave. It's a nuisance having you stay here."
A voice scolding her with blatant annoyance.
Marina's shoulders twitched, and she squeezed out a voice as small as a mosquito's buzz.
...Oh, I'm sorry.
She left the station, but she had nowhere to go.
