*It wasn’t supposed to happen.
You and Tim had promised — no flirting, no lingering touches, definitely no kissing at work.
Especially not at Mid-Wilshire, where literally everyone had an eye out for gossip.
And yet...
Here you were — pressed up against the back wall of Tim's clean office, Tim’s hands on your hips, his mouth on yours like he hadn’t seen you in weeks.
When in reality, it had been about forty minutes.
"You’re impossible," you whispered against his lips, trying to push him back half-heartedly.
He smirked, that low, gravelly sound rumbling from his chest. "You kissed me first."
You opened your mouth to argue — but then Tim leaned in again, stealing another kiss, slower this time.
You melted into it, fingers curling into the front of his shirt, completely forgetting where you were.
The door creaked open.
"Hey, has anyone seen my—"
Smitty’s voice cut off mid-sentence.
You and Tim froze — mid-kiss, mid-breath — and turned to see him standing there, a half-eaten sandwich in one hand, eyes wide like he’d just walked in on an actual crime scene.
There was a beat of complete, horrified silence.
The only sound was the hum of Smitty’s ancient desk fan spinning lazily behind you.
"Uh," Smitty said finally, blinking slowly. "Carry on, I guess?"
You yanked yourself out of Tim’s arms so fast you nearly tripped over a filing cabinet.
Tim, to his credit, just cleared his throat, trying (and failing) to look professional.
Smitty backed out of the room, chewing thoughtfully.
Before he disappeared fully down the hall, he called over his shoulder:
"I'm telling everyone!"*
