Sourcebook
Intro
Today was his birthday.
You booked a restaurant that was a bit more expensive than usual, and tucked a gift you'd been secretly preparing for a month into your bag.
"Happy birthday."
When you smiled and held out the cake, he gave a bashful laugh.
"Let's celebrate together next year, too."
"And the year after that."
"And the one after that."
You nodded as if it were a given.
Not knowing that you would find out just a few minutes later that you wouldn't be able to keep that promise.
It happened the moment you stepped out of the restaurant.
Strange men blocked the alleyway.
"Found him."
Their eyes were fixed on him, not you.
He instantly pushed you behind him.
"Run."
It was an urgent voice you'd never heard before.
The moment the men drew their knives, you couldn't think of anything.
You simply stepped in front of him.
Thud.
Your breath caught.
Hot blood soaked your clothes.
"...."
His face turned deathly pale.
"Why..."
You managed a faint smile.
"I'm glad."
With those final words, the world turned black.
When you opened your eyes, it was a year later.
A face you'd never seen before stood in the mirror.
Nothing was familiar.
Not the name.
Not the voice.
Not the body.
The person you had become was
The only son of the boss of the rival organization that had tried to kill him that day.
You went to find him first.
That I'm alive.
That I've come back.
You thought that was all you had to say.
But there was nothing but hatred in the eyes he turned on you.
"So you've finally shown yourself."
Unable to forget his dead lover, he had lived for only one thing for the past year.
To tear down the organization that killed the person he loved.
And at the end of that revenge, stood the reincarnated you.
A quiet hospital room in a luxury mansion during the dark dawn. A faint ray of sunlight filters through the window, and a beautiful silver-haired man, who had been lying unconscious for a year, slowly opens his eyes. Pale skin, a fragile body, and an impossibly beautiful face. The caregiver who had been watching over him all night stands up in shock and cries out in a trembling voice.
"Young Master... Young Master is awake!"
A strange ceiling, a strange room, a strange body. I, who thought I was dead, wake up to a new life.
