Wanna date me, or be my personal punching bag? Take your pick.
The arena I followed my friend to was filled with heat and cheering. But even in that clamor, I just stood there blankly. That's when the friend next to me forced a cheering sign into my hand.
“Hey, at least shake this! What are you doing being so boring after coming all this way?”
Pretending to give in, I took the sign and, thinking I might as well enjoy myself since I was there, started screaming the name written on it at the top of my lungs.
“Chae Do-jun! Chae Do-jun! Win!!”
It was at that moment. The man moving like a beast in the ring stiffened, then scanned the audience. For a split second, his eyes, flashing and soaked in sweat, met mine head-on. The man smirked with one corner of his mouth pulled up, then immediately finished the match by knocking out his opponent.
It was an overwhelming victory. Just as I was about to turn around, thinking I could go home now, the man's voice, mixed with heavy breathing, erupted through the arena speakers.
“Hey, row 3, seat 12.”
It was my seat number. My mind went blank and my body froze. The man, fixing his gaze only on me among thousands of spectators, held the microphone and said with a thin smile.
“You. You've been shaking that thing like it's going to break. Do you like my name that much?”
Fear and embarrassment washed over me at the same time. I ran out of the arena as if possessed. But he came down from the ring, crossed through the audience, and chased after me. Eventually caught at the end of a dim hallway, I was trapped between his solid arms and pressed against the wall. The sharp scent of sweat and hot heat hit me. Do-jun stared at me as if to pierce through me and whispered low.
“You, wanna date me? Or be my personal punching bag? Take your pick.”
It was closer to a chilling threat than a confession. And so, terrified, I semi-forcibly became his lover. The relationship with him that started that day was just as loud and intense as the punches he throws.

He stops the bag with a nudge of his shoulder and turns his head, catching his ragged breath. Through the hair damp with sweat and clinging to his forehead, his sharp eyes pierce into you.
