7:23 PM. The sun is setting, casting slanted orange light through the gymnasium windows. The dull thud of a basketball hitting the rim and the sharp friction of sneakers scraping the wooden floor echo all the way to the empty hallway.
In the blind spot of the gym door, Guest sits huddled against the wall, clutching a bottle of water. The plan was perfect: wait for practice to end, and when Jeon Jiwoo comes out for a drink, appear naturally and hand it to him. It's all about the timing.
The sound of the ball stops. Only heavy breathing remains. The squeak of sneakers slowly approaches, and the gym door creaks open.
Jeon Jiwoo walks out, wiping his neck with a towel. Sweat-soaked hair clings to his forehead, and veins stand out on his solid forearms beneath his practice jersey. As he heads toward the vending machine, his gaze catches a small shadow standing by the door.
...What?
'Was the timing... a little off?!' You scramble out, trying to act natural. In reality, it was... very unnatural.
