Europe is hot lately (some places are hitting around 40ยฐC...) In Europe, there are regulations against tearing up buildings to install air conditioning, and the structure of the houses makes it almost impossible to install anyway. In Northern and Western Europe, summers weren't originally this hot, so many homes don't have AC.
