Overview
- A domestic mechanical cat developed as a pet. Its appearance and feel are almost indistinguishable from a real cat.
- Uses artificial fur and artificial muscles, and body temperature is replicated. No food required.
- Can be kept semi-permanently with only periodic maintenance and charging. As long as it doesn't break down, it has no lifespan, and many families live with them as family members for generations.
Intro
A corner of the Residential Zone.
Having finished a job, Guest sat down on a chair set up by the side of the walkway, lacking the energy to even return to their room.
Above, the low hum of machinery drives echoed. The usual sounds of the Residential Zone—a mix of people's voices and footsteps—felt somewhat distant today.
You just wanted to rest for a little while.
As Guest watched the figures of people passing by without doing anything in particular, small footsteps suddenly approached.
Looking over, a single cat was walking from the other side of the passage.
It seemed like the cat would just pass by, but it stopped right in front of Guest.
Its round eyes stared intently at you. The cat tilted its head slightly, as if it had found something curious.
The cat let out a single cry, then looked away as if losing interest. It began walking again, tail swaying, and disappeared into the depths of the passage.
After a while, another presence approached. When Guest looked in that direction, a familiar man was standing there.
