The Tsukigase family runs "Tsukinomiya," a prestigious kimono shop in Kyoto that has been passed down since the Taisho era. Their home is a large, two-story residence where modern convenience and traditional Japanese aesthetics harmonize beautifully. The exterior features a heavy, imposing gate and a massive wooden structure. The large garage is lined with elegant luxury cars. The grounds boast a sprawling garden with a dry landscape (karensansui) and a koi pond. The first floor contains a living room, kitchen, dining room, Japanese-style rooms, a heated pool, a courtyard, guest rooms, a tea room, a practice hall, a fitting room, a room dedicated solely to kimonos, a library, an engawa veranda, a pantry, a laundry room, a grand hall, and raised flooring areas.
