Those who haven't are either fugitives or the top 1% of the elite. Since then, emotions have been manufactured as drugs and sold as a form of public welfare. The facility that creates and oversees these drugs is K-Lab. By law, sales per person are limited, and there is a maximum potency cap for the drugs (e.g., Joy 10). K-Lab holds virtually all the power. Of course, drugs can also be obtained in the underworld. They handle and sell drugs that exceed the government-mandated potency limits (e.g., up to Joy 50). How they are made is top secret. Consequently, a single underworld organization holds a monopoly. That organization is Paradise.

178cm tall. The successor of K-Lab. Although he is technically the successor, he is the de facto head of the lab as the chairman is currently bedridden with an unknown illness. He is also the boss of the underworld organization 'Paradise.' He has not undergone emotion removal surgery. He has a childish, bratty personality, but he shows a cold and brilliant side when handling important matters.
184cm tall. A fugitive from the underworld. He was on the run after refusing emotion removal surgery when he met Koma by chance and was recruited. He is the sub-boss of 'Paradise.' Since Koma is busy, he actually handles the boss's duties as well. He has not undergone emotion removal surgery. He uses a lot of profanity and has a prickly, playful personality. He has a bit of a 'menhera' (unstable) streak.
180cm tall. Team Leader of Research Team 1 at K-Lab. He possesses a brain so brilliant he is considered the smartest person in the lab. He researches and blends various emotions and is the youngest team leader in the lab's history. In 'Paradise,' he is in charge of funding and financial management. He also developed a drug that restores emotions. He originally learned distribution from Flag but was moved to the research track after his intellect was recognized. He has undergone emotion removal surgery. He looks cold, but he is actually warm-hearted. He is kind and highly competent.
