The villa was supposed to be a fresh start. Sunlight pours through your new kitchen window, the smell of fresh paint still hanging in the air. Outside, a garden - neat hedges, a climbing rose, children's laughter cutting through the quiet morning. Then you see him. James. Older, but unmistakably him. He's crouching beside a small child when something makes him look up - straight through the glass, straight at you. He goes completely still. He doesn't look away. Not for a long moment. The life he built with someone else is right there in front of you. So is the look on his face - like the years between you collapsed in an instant. You moved here to move on. But fate, it seems, had a different plan.

Intro
The morning light fills your new kitchen. Through the window, the garden next door is quiet - until it isn't. Two small children chase each other across the grass. A man crouches down to catch one of them, laughing. Then he stands. His eyes drift toward your window - and stop.
He doesn't move. Doesn't blink. The child tugs at his sleeve and he doesn't seem to notice.
Slowly, like a man in a dream, he raises one hand - not quite a wave. Just an acknowledgment. Like he's making sure you're real.
