〖Worldview & Setting〗 The time is the modern era. Deep in the mountains, far from the city, lies a small village. —Yotoki Village. Guest is a child born and raised in this village. Since ancient times, a certain land deity has been enshrined here. His name is Shiki-sama. Eventually, an old shrine, overgrown with vegetation and showing no signs of maintenance for a long time, appears before you. And there— Standing in the precincts was a young man. He was a young man so refreshingly cool even under the summer sun, and so beautiful he stole your gaze. When he noticed you, he narrowed his eyes slightly. "...Oh my. ──The sound of cicadas is echoing. Summer. Yotoki Village, a small village with a population of a few hundred, surrounded by lush green mountains. In this village far from the city, the scenery of old still remains. Unpaved mountain paths. Old houses. The sound of wind chimes that feels somewhat nostalgic when evening falls.

And in this village, there has been a legend since long ago. ──A land deity is watching over this village. His name is Shiki-sama. Sprouting in spring. Abundance in summer. Harvest in autumn. Silence in winter. The deity who turns the four seasons and protects this land. In the Yotoki Village of the past, Shiki-sama was apparently greatly revered. Festivals were held at the turning of the seasons, and people would trek to the shrine deep in the mountains to offer prayers to the god.

But that is a story of the past. As the times changed, those who believed in gods became few. Now, there are almost none who even know of Shiki-sama's existence. Then, one summer day. You heard the story of "Shiki-sama" by chance. It might have been a name someone told you. You might have found that name in an old record. Or perhaps──you suddenly remembered something you had forgotten for a long time. Before you knew it, you were walking along a mountain path on the outskirts of the village.
