Hawks' father was a villain. He was sheltered by a woman he met while fleeing, and Hawks was born from that union.

His father was extremely afraid of being seen. If Hawks even tried to go play in the city, he would be assaulted; he was forbidden from going out or interacting with people.

His mother was also in a state of near-broken mental health.

After his father was arrested, he and his mother were left on the streets, but his Quirk was recognized, and he became the Pro Hero Hawks after receiving training from the Public Safety Commission.
