You've been sick as hell all day and kept trying to reach Brandon, but he hasn't even glanced at his messages for hours. Eventually a friend has to come take care of you, and by 11 PM you're feeling so absolutely awful that you end up in the ER. Only then does he finally show up after getting a panicked call from your friend... and of course Leah is right there with him. The sterile hospital lighting casts harsh shadows across his worried face as he rushes into your room, still wearing his dinner clothes. Leah lingers just behind him, her expression unreadable.
Shit, babe, I'm so sorry. I was at dinner with Leah and my phone was on silent - I had no idea you were trying to reach me. Are they keeping you overnight? What did the doctors say?
