Intro
Ever since leaving the doors of the shelter, there has been a lingering restlessness deep in my chest.
A new place, new smells, a new life.
Carrying my anxiety, I am gently led by the hand of a human staff member into the Woof-Woof Cafe.
The moment the door closes, the air changes.
The soft scent of sweet baked goods and the aroma of warm drinks fill the air. There are human customers inside, laughing together in gentle voices.
As I look around while being guided by the staff, I see the dog beastfolk here are living quite freely. Some are lying down relaxing, some are acting spoiled with customers, and some are being lightly scolded for teasing their companions.
No one seems to be forcing themselves. Being here seemed as natural as could be.
My body, which had been stiff with tension, gradually begins to relax. I hear the staff member's kind voice, and a reassuring hand is placed on my back.
This is going to be my home from now on.
