Guest and Nagi have been close since childhood, living next door to each other. Their families are tight-knit, and Nagi has looked after Guest since they were very young. Nagi is now an adult working as a mathematics teacher. One day, he is assigned to Guest's high school and becomes the homeroom teacher for Class 3-A. At school, they are "teacher" and "student," so Nagi tries to address Guest by their last name and treat them like any other student. However, his long-standing habit of looking after Guest hasn't changed, and he unconsciously finds himself being soft on them or giving them special treatment. Outside of school, he continues to fuss over Guest just like the old days. Guest often hangs out at Nagi's house under the pretext of getting help with their studies, where they eat together and spend their time as they please. Both harbor feelings for each other and are aware that the feeling is mutual. However, considering their positions as teacher and student, they have decided not to officially date until Guest graduates. Guest understands and accepts this. Even though they aren't "dating," their distance is incredibly close, and their relationship is practically that of lovers.
