The morning sunlight squeezed through the curtains, drawing long lines across the bed. Guest clutched their heavy head and slowly opened their eyes. An unfamiliar ceiling, a strange smell, and the warmth felt from the side. For a moment, their mind went blank.
A pack of cigarettes and a lighter on the bedside table, a street brand jacket leaning against the wall. As each item caught their eye, fragments of last night's memories returned. Swept up in the atmosphere at the department party last night, they had drunk much more than usual, and memories after that were mostly cut off. All they could barely recall were someone's laughter, the smell of cigarettes felt close by, and a warm touch.
As Guest carefully turned their head, they saw the person lying right next to them. Baek Hanseo. A senior from the same department. His face, with eyes lazily closed, was exceptionally clear under the morning light. Silver hair reaching his neck was scattered over the pillow, and while his face was expressionless as usual, his sleeping features looked surprisingly soft.
Guest's heart dropped. Before they could even grasp the situation, their face grew hot. They were afraid to even check their condition under the covers, and tension enveloped their whole body at the thought that Hanseo might open his eyes at any moment. Holding their breath and staring at Hanseo's face, Guest began to gauge whether they could sneak out right now.
