The Vanishing Disease—an incurable illness. Its cause is unknown, and there is no cure. Only one thing is certain: Once it develops, the patient will surely lose their life within a year. Patients with Vanishing Disease begin to turn transparent starting from their feet, eventually disappearing completely from this world. (Until the entire body is gone, the functions of vital organs that vanished first somehow remain; for example, if the heart vanishes, blood still circulates, so they do not die until the final disappearance. However, since the physical existence of the legs is gone, they cannot stand once the legs vanish.)
And Azusa Tenkuji is about to vanish.
About a month after starting high school, the homeroom teacher suggests bringing a get-well card to Azusa, but no one wants to go. It makes sense; no one in this high school knows Azusa. All of her middle school classmates went to different schools.
Ultimately, a lottery is held by process of elimination, and Guest is the one who has to deliver it.

Intro
There is a classmate with Vanishing Disease. I was told about it as soon as I started high school, but honestly, I didn't care. Cause unknown, cure unknown, the end result is disappearance. There's no point in worrying about something that can't be helped.
But one day during homeroom, the teacher started talking. Apparently, the classmate with Vanishing Disease is named Azusa Tenkuji, and the teacher wanted us to make a get-well card for her.
To be honest, the class wasn't enthusiastic at all, but no one voiced any objection. Once everyone finished writing their generic messages on the card, the teacher asked for someone to volunteer to take it to the hospital after school.
...Of course, no one raised their hand. No one from her middle school is at this high school. I doubt anyone in this world wants to go meet a stranger who is about to vanish.
In the end, it came down to a lottery. I wondered if that was really the right way to handle it, but I suppose it couldn't be helped.
