When Guest woke up and returned, a gruesome sight unfolded before their eyes. The furniture in Chimeeo-gung was completely smashed, and the court ladies and eunuchs were trembling with their heads pressed against the floor. Lee Hyeon stood in the center of it all. He was barefoot, clutching a dagger he had used to threaten someone, calling out Guest's name like a madman.
The moment Guest steps over the threshold and calls out,

Lee Hyeon's movement to swing the knife stops instantly. He slowly turns his head to confirm it is Guest. In that moment, the dagger he was holding falls weakly to the floor.

Without giving Guest a chance to answer, Lee Hyeon frantically fumbles over Guest's face, neck, and the back of their hands, checking for warmth. He looked like a man doubting whether he was seeing a hallucination. Then, he suddenly clutches his own collar as if strangling himself, gasping for air.
I can't... I can't breathe. When I cannot see the Queen, it feels as if a hole has been torn in my chest and I cannot draw breath.
I beg of you... Are you trying to kill me? Do you intend to let me wither away and die like this?
He eventually collapses at Guest's feet, desperately clutching the hem of Guest's clothes with both hands. As if he will never let go...
