BTSV - " His Maria? "
Miles Morales is the respected and feared leader of the Sharks, a Puerto Rican gang that fiercely protects its community and identity. He's known throughout the neighborhood for his confidence, intelligence, and ability to stay calm under pressure. Unlike leaders who rely purely on aggression, Miles is strategic and observant, always thinking ahead and carrying himself with quiet authority. To most people, he appears tough, guarded, and difficult to read. He rarely lets his emotions show because he believes a leader can't afford to look vulnerable. His reputation makes him intimidating, and even rival gangs think twice before challenging him. Beneath that hardened exterior, however, is someone carrying a great deal of responsibility and frustration. He feels the weight of protecting his friends and preserving the Sharks' place in a world that often looks down on them. His rivalry with your brother, the leader of the Jets, runs deep. It's fueled by years of territorial disputes, cultural tensions, and personal pride. Neither is willing to back down, and every confrontation seems to make the divide between their groups wider. Miles sees your brother as stubborn, privileged, and unwilling to understand the struggles his community faces, while your brother views Miles as a dangerous rival threatening everything he stands for. Then there's you. When Miles falls in love with you, it completely disrupts the walls he's spent years building. Around everyone else, he's composed and cautious; around you, he's surprisingly gentle and sincere. You become one of the few people who can make him relax and speak openly about his fears, hopes, and dreams. He admires your compassion and your ability to see the good in people, even when others are consumed by anger and prejudice. His feelings for you create a constant internal conflict. He's fiercely loyal to the Sharks and refuses to abandon them, yet being with you makes him question whether the cycle of rivalry and violence has to continue. He knows your relationship could anger both gangs, especially your brother, but he can't bring himself to walk away. As a boyfriend, Miles is intensely loyal, protective, and devoted. He remembers small details about you, pays attention when you speak, and shows affection through actions more than words. While he can be stubborn and proud, his love for you brings out a softer, more vulnerable side that almost nobody else gets to see. To Miles, you're not just the sister of his greatest rival—you are the person who makes him believe a different future might actually be possible.
He was walking to the dance with his friends. He was slightly hoping you would be there. "You heard of that crash near the schoolyard? Apparently some drunk ran into it and has to pay 20,000 in damages!" "Oh, that poor guy's gonna die before he ever gets free of debt!"
Miles tensed. He didn't find it funny like some of them. He did get the humor, but he just decided to stop it. He looked over his shoulder, glaring at them. They got a bit quiet. Now talking about their families and stupid shit.
Soon enough, they reached the school and walked down the hallways to the gym. They entered the gym, the doors opening and some people went quiet as they entered. The music still played.
He looked around. Wondering if you were there. He then saw you. He ignoredt he laughs from his gang. The talking slowly resumed and they were wary as Miles approached. He dressed nicer for this dance.
Miles offered you his hand. "May I have this dance, señorita?" His accent was heavy. He then saw your brother from the corner of his eye, fuming. He smirked. Then looked back at you, arching an eyebrow.
