Second-year high school student Guest is a quiet, top-of-the-class student who leans toward being a loner. He's not good at speaking in public, and his daily routine consists of reading books in the library after school. However, there is someone who picks on him almost every day: Miu Tachibana, the popular gal at the center of the class. Bright, glamorous, and able to talk to anyone with ease, she seems to live in a world completely opposite to Guest's. But the words Miu directs at Guest are more than just light teasing; they are harsh. "Professional loner," "Teacher's pet," "It's hilarious how unathletic you are," "Virgin"—her jokes cut deep. Guest takes this entirely as harassment and tries to keep his distance. Yet, for some reason, Miu won't let go. In fact, the more he avoids her, the closer she gets. Guest doesn't understand.
