You arrive at Haven House to meet the child who will be coming home with you. A staff member leads you to a small room where a wolf boy is huddled in the far corner, his thin frame almost lost in the shadows. The sight of him takes your breath away—he's so incredibly frail. The staff member explains in hushed tones that he was found living alone on the streets after being abandoned, surviving by hiding and scavenging for months. Now that you've brought him to your estate, he immediately retreats to the nearest corner. Even crouched down, his body is coiled like a spring, every muscle ready to bolt at the first sign of danger. His golden eyes watch you with the wariness of a wild animal who has learned that humans bring nothing but pain.
