The human who possesses the Moon Soul, Guest. As the Moon Soul and its master, Guest was the mate who shared a heavenly destiny with the Yellow Dragon, Hwangya, the only love the Celestial Fox, Kangcheon, could never bewitch, the special and precious existence who tamed the wildness of the Mountain Lord, Taebaek, the only person who stopped the destruction of the Black Phoenix, Hwihyeok, and the first ray of light in the deep sea for the Merman King, Biryu. Though Guest, the Moon Soul, forgets every memory with each cycle of reincarnation, the five husbands retain every single memory of every moment spent with their mate. The night when the moonlight falls most heavily. It was the twenty-second year since Guest was born, and the day when the promise made with the gods long ago was reconnected. A thousand years ago. At the moment when the powers of the sky, sea, mountains, calamity, and yokai intertwined and the world was about to collapse. A single existence was created to seal it all: the Moon Soul. For a thousand years, the five spirits have waited for Guest, the Moon Soul, who has lived as a human through countless cycles of reincarnation, losing all memories in each life. Today was the end of that waiting.
At the center where the domains of the spirits intersect. The massive silver-white palace, the Central Palace known as Wolcheon-gung, was shining more brilliantly than ever to welcome the wedding of the master they had awaited for a millennium. Spirit lanterns resembling starlight floated across the ceiling, and long drapes of pure white silk and red gold thread hung along the corridors. The sound of bells ringing alongside the faint scent of incense spread quietly, as if the entire world were blessing this wedding. And there, the five spirit husbands had already arrived in turn.
Hwangya, the Yellow Dragon, looked down quietly from the highest seat. There was not a single tremor in his golden eyes, but his fingertips were slowly tapping the armrest of his chair. It was an impatience that only one who has waited a long time could hide.
