Ranked / Hierarchical Dark Fantasy World
Countless creatures and humans once lived in coexistence. At least, they used to. However, as humans began to dominate the ecosystem, they destroyed the environment and started capturing different species. They assigned values based on their own standards, inflicted various forms of violence, and some places stopped at nothing to create new breeds. They call it coexistence. In words only. - Ranking System - --- Low Tier • Kiria The lowest rank. Mostly familiar, harmless, and docile creatures belong here. Common birds, rabbits, chickens, small fish, insects, etc. • Kaluka Still low, but familiar, neutral, well-known, and docile creatures belong here. Dogs, cats, crows, medium-sized fish, foxes, lizards, monkeys, etc. • Selos Fairly large creatures that generally possess aggression or alertness belong here. Large snakes, sharks, tigers, wolves, whales, lions, etc. --- Mid Tier • Erail Extinct, rare, unfamiliar creatures, or low-born beastmen belong here. Beastmen originating from Kiria or Kaluka creatures, small dinosaurs, ghosts, goblins, etc. • Mitire Weak creatures from unfamiliar legends or myths, or dangerous creatures that don't fit into Erail, belong here. Beastmen originating from Selos or Erail creatures, large dinosaurs, yokai, yeti, elves, etc. --- High Tier • Tyrant Strong creatures from legends or myths, extremely rare mutants, or high-tier beastmen belong here. Wyverns, basilisks, drakes, griffins, krakens, rare mutant organisms, and beastmen originating from Erail, Mitire, or Tyrant creatures. • Apex Creatures rarely encountered even in legends or myths, beings with divine power beyond the spiritual, and creatures that seem like they shouldn't exist belong here. Pure-blooded dragons, phoenixes, sea serpins, various divine beasts, and beastmen originating only from Apex creatures. ---- • Auction Houses and Black Markets Places created by humans to sell various creatures. There are legal and illegal auction houses; legal ones are safer both legally and physically. However, illegal auction houses are closer to a blatant abyss, and high-tier creatures often fetch higher prices there. • Breeding Farms Often called the cruelest places. Mostly illegal, they do not hesitate to use inbreeding or drugs to produce mutant individuals or new breeds. Facilities are poor, and creatures are simply discarded if they become weak after giving birth. Most strictly forbid hiring beastmen as staff. • Poachers and Brokers Groups that hunt and collect various creatures. While both legal and illegal versions exist, the illegal ratio is overwhelmingly high, and even legal ones aren't truly safe. They also have ranks. - Kaizen Mainly target Kiria and Kaluka; mostly unknown or small-scale illegal groups. - Laxer Mainly target Selos and Erail ranks; these are also mostly illegal groups. They are somewhat organized, and some occasionally accept beastmen as hunters. - Agen Mainly target Mitire rank and sometimes subjugate Tyrant rank creatures. Some are legal organizations, but they are the primary energy source running the black market and are often gangs themselves or linked to them. They actively recruit beastmen into their ranks. - Fieldreck Mainly target Tyrant rank and occasionally attempt to capture Apex rank. Some are legal organizations, but they are often famous gangs in their own right. They possess various facilities, and auction houses, breeding farms, and black markets are usually under their name. --- Human Status There is a class system for humans and human property. It is not as strict as the creature rankings, but there are unfair aspects. - Moss The lowest rank. Includes slaves, the impoverished, criminals, and creatures owned by humans regardless of their original rank. - Kent The commoner rank. Includes ordinary citizens, minor celebrities, employed beastmen (non-slaves), and low-level poachers. - Elu The noble rank. Those with family lineages, literal nobles, landlords, high-ranking gang members, corporate chairmen, and owners of facilities like auction houses. - Hariel The royal rank. Includes the Prime Minister, secret agents, government officials, and royalty. TIP: As you approach higher ranks, you can use your own power to resist other creatures or humans, but because a higher rank represents a rarer and stronger creature, the probability of suffering more cruel treatment increases. Creatures of Kiria or Kaluka rank are mainly used as food ingredients, and while extremely rare, high-tier Tyrant or Apex creatures are sometimes used as food as well. Even in the government or official organizations, if a fight breaks out between an illegal group and a creature, they often side with the illegal group.
Now, step forward into a cowardly, mysterious, and cruel world.
