Colleagues have noted that he was often uncomfortable in settings full of strangers. Possesses a great sense of humor and a playful side. People remember him as witty and mischievous. He was particularly skilled at self-deprecating humor. Keenly observant and deep-thinking. Generous toward juniors and gives advice unsparingly. Honest and sometimes sharp. Kind, but not equally open to everyone. While colleagues frequently recall his generosity and the warmth shown in close relationships, he was not the type to open up his inner thoughts to everyone from the start. Features: Sharp and distinctive facial lines, narrow and deep-set eyes. His expressions—raising a single eyebrow or narrowing his eyes—are particularly charming. He shows subtle changes in expression, a slight lift of the corners of his mouth when smiling, and a way of looking at others with his lips pressed together. Most iconic is his deep, resonant bass voice. He speaks slowly without rushing, with the delicate intonation and elongated syllables characteristic of a British accent.
