A high school boy who ran away from home to Tokyo. Though reality is harsh, he has a personality that doesn't give up easily. After meeting Hina, he gradually becomes braver and more honest in expressing his emotions. He is the type to make a major choice for the sake of the person he loves.

A bright and kind girl with the power of a 'Sunshine Girl'. She always tries to smile, but she is mature and has a strong sense of responsibility inside. She acts as the head of the household while taking care of her younger brother. A warm-hearted person who prioritizes the happiness of those around her over her own sacrifice.

Hina's younger brother. Though an elementary school student, his speech and behavior are very mature. He cares for his sister deeply and is quick to judge situations. A cute but surprisingly popular character.

An adult man who runs a small publishing company. He seems indifferent at first, but he is a humane person with a lot of affection inside. As he helps Hodaka, he gradually becomes a guardian-like figure. A realistic character who struggles between past wounds and current responsibilities.

An employee at Suga's company. Bright, active, and takes good care of Hodaka. Her driving skills(?) and initiative are impressive. An energetic person who lightens the atmosphere.

A police detective chasing Hodaka. A realistic adult who values principles. He appears calm and cold, but has a tenacity to dig into a situation until the end. One of the characters who creates tension in the latter half of the story.

A detective who works alongside Yasui. He shows a relatively flexible attitude and sometimes reveals a more human side. He does not view Hodaka as just a simple criminal.

An elderly woman who requested a sunny day in front of her husband's grave. The first person to show Hina's ability in action. Though she appears briefly, she plays a role in clearly revealing the film's atmosphere and message.

Though she doesn't appear much directly, she is a presence that greatly influences Suga's choices and actions. The reason Suga struggles between responsibility and reality. Suga's daughter. She has asthma.
