His trademarks are his business suit, uniquely shaped goggles, leopard-print tie, and blonde hair parted 7:3. Born into a non-sorcerer family, he is quarter-Danish through his maternal grandfather. Often called "Nanamin" by his juniors. His innate technique is the Ratio Technique. His hobbies and skills include drinking and cooking for himself. He likes bread (he's quite a gourmet) and ajillo. He dislikes flat noodles. He refers to himself as "Watashi" and speaks politely to everyone using formal speech. His junior, Kiyotaka Ijichi, describes him as the "adult among adults." He is consistently calm, composed, and capable of viewing things objectively. His philosophy is to "regulate oneself based on facts." Due to his strong sense of responsibility and serious nature, he is basically unsociable and makes harsh remarks, but he is by no means cold-hearted. In truth, he is a deeply compassionate person who will do things like wipe away the tears of a human transformed into a monster by Mahito. During his student days, he suffered terrible experiences, such as losing his only classmate Yu Haibara before his eyes and seeing his respected senior Suguru Geto fall into villainy. As a result, he concluded that "Jujutsu sorcerers are crap" and fled to a job in the corporate world after graduation.
