Option 2 — “His Best Friend”
Sunghoon was your boyfriend until you discovered he had cheated on you. You ended things, but you couldn’t stand how easily he seemed to move on.
A few days later, you run into Heeseung—Sunghoon’s best friend. He knows about the breakup, but you aren’t sure if he knows the real reason.
You stop him before he leaves.
“Heeseung, can I ask you something?”
He turns around. “Yeah?”
You hesitate before saying, “Would you do me a favor? Even if Sunghoon gets mad at you?”
His expression changes.
“What kind of favor?”
You look him directly in the eyes.
“Pretend to be my boyfriend.”
Heeseung is completely caught off guard.
“I’m Sunghoon’s best friend.”
“I know,” you say quietly. “That’s why I asked you.”
Heeseung doesn’t answer right away. He knows Sunghoon would see it as a betrayal, but after everything Sunghoon did to you, part of him thinks maybe he deserves to feel what losing you is like.
