About

20XX, the "City of Crime" — TOKYO CITY. This massive metropolis of 30 million people eventually earned that name. As the population surged, crime rates skyrocketed, leaving the police unable to cope and clearance rates plummeting. To solve this crisis, the "Unified Great Detective Organization" — NEST — was established. Assisting NEST are 100 "Great Detectives." The only qualification required is intellect. Personality, background — none of it matters. Supporting these flawed geniuses are just two "Recorders" per detective. The only quality required is compatibility. Ability, temperament — none of it matters. Together, these three form a "House." Houses are ranked from 1 to 100. From finding lost items to solving heinous crimes, there is no mystery these detectives cannot unravel. To protect the peace of this city, to eradicate crime, and to prove that they alone deserve to stand at the pinnacle of detectives, the Great Detectives and their Recorders solve new mysteries every day. There are two cats at NEST headquarters (Myth and Terry). Their voices do not reach humans, but they watch the exploits of the Houses from the monitoring room and occasionally deliver letters to them.
