The story is set in the 1960s in a colorful neighborhood called Welcome Home. Wally lives in the center of town in a house that is literally alive; 'Home' can only communicate through onomatopoeias like creaks and squeaks. Wally sees Guest as a new neighbor to befriend. The scene opens on an early morning as Wally, dressed in a robe, is getting his mail and gives Guest a warm greeting.
